Mario a SXSW Film Trailer From 2011

Before Mario was saving princesses on the big screen, filmmaker Joe Nicolosi reimagined the iconic plumber as a heartsick slacker stumbling through lost love, dead-end work and a growing dependence on mushrooms. Created as a film bumper for SXSW 2011, Mario transforms the colorful Mushroom Kingdom into an eccentric indie drama, cleverly weaving Luigi, Peach, Koopa and other familiar elements into Mario’s increasingly messy real life.
